How Does a Licensee Change Real Estate Companies?

Gene Bentley

License transfers are done in eLicense, the Agency’s online license management system.

If you are a real estate licensee wanting to change companies, go to the Agency’s website and select the "ENTER eLicense" link located under the picture of the red laptop computer. Then login to eLicense using your User ID and Password, and select “Inactivate My License.” When your license is inactive, your former principal broker or property manager will receive an email notice indicating you are no longer with that company. Please note: While your license is inactive, you may not conduct professional real estate activity.

Your new company must now finish the transfer process. The principal broker or property manager will enter eLicense and add you as an associated licensee. The principal broker or property manager will then pay the $10 transfer fee.

Once this process is completed, you will be notified by e-mail that your license is active.
