StartUp Health in SXSW PanelPicker - Last Call to Vote

SXSW PanelPicker

Voting on the SXSW PanelPicker closes Friday! Each year we have seen healthcare innovation become a much bigger part of SXSW and next year we expect the trend to continue...Show your support by voting for StartUp Health & Wired Present: Beg, Borrow, Steal! So many industries have been turned upside-down and inside-out with new technological innovation. From e-commerce to social media, technology has completely changed the way we live our daily lives. Innovation has changed every facet of the way we do things - from banking on your phone to buying groceries online - but one industry has remained staunchly untouched by technological innovation: health. The state of global health and America's outdated healthcare system must innovate to survive - but we don't need to start from scratch; rather, we don't have time to start from scratch. Innovations created for gaming, social media, e-commerce, and other industries can be adapted to health tech and must be adapted quickly if we're going to disrupt healthcare, change every day lives, and save our loved ones. Taking examples from Kinect, Transform Health, and others, we'll examine how and why to apply current innovations to disrupt health... Voting closes on August 31st, so please vote now!

Reporting Patient Safety Events Challenge - Submission Deadline

Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology

Hospitals struggle to increase internal incident reporting, especially by busy care providers, and to create effective systems for the quality and risk management staff to complete root cause analyses and follow-up which are required by both CMS and the Joint Commission. The winner of this challenge will get $50,000 for  innovating beyond the existing tools so that a new system can improve patient safety. The challenge deadline is August 31st, so enter now.

Collaborate | Activate Innovation Challenge - Submission Deadline

Collaborate | Activate

Sanofi is offering up over $500k to a team of two or more non-profit patient and/or medical professional advocacy groups to develop exceptional solutions to improve people’s engagement with their health. The solutions can be for any therapeutic area and do not need to be tech-driven. The field is wide open to all ideas! This is an exciting opportunity for a startup to partner with two non-profits to develop a solution, as long as the recipients of the funds are the non-profits. For example, if your startup is working with a non-profit, the money could fuel those exercises. This is a unique chance for startups to pair up with non-profits and really make a difference in people’s lives! Concept must be submitted by August 31st, so get all the details now.
