Dear friends of the Living/Dying Project,

Here is another update to let you know what is happening with the Living/Dying Project.

The Sivananda Ashram Yoga Farm in Grass Valley, CA is facilitating an Interfaith Death and Dying Symposium September 17 - 21. Their description of the Symposium: “During this interfaith dialog retreat we will share and learn from each other and explore the beauty and meaning of death and dying - the importance of life and the importance of death, the process of dying, dying with dignity and conscious dying, ethical and moral challenges around being allowed to die and dying as a spiritual practice.” I will be giving a presentation sometime on September 20 or 21. For more information go to  www.yogafarm.org/course/679.

Our Open Circle program continues to offer spiritual support to clients with life-threatening illnesses in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin and Sonoma counties. Love After Love

The day will come when, with elation
you will greet yourself arriving at your own door, in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other’s welcome, and say,
sit here, eat.

You will love again the stranger who was yourself.
Give wine, give bread.
Give back your heart to itself,
to the stranger who has loved you all your life,
whom you ignored for another,
who knows you by heart.

Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.
