Reiki helps heal the Ego
The ego does not like changes and has an obsessive need to be right; it is easy enough to recognize the part our ego plays in our life. Whenever we come from fear, when we are stuck or in the midst of conflict we can be sure that our ego is in charge.
In today’s quest to rid ourselves of our ego we too often dismiss the fact that if something exists it serves a purpose. And if we believe the following: ‘What you resist will persist’ then it makes sense to not make an enemy of this aspect of ourselves but to rather get to know it and honor its gift. Like everything in life the ego is both a blessing and a curse and when we focus on the blessing healing can happen.
One typical example of the ego at paly is when rather than rest in one's own truth people feel a need to comment and defend their views, beliefs and ideas. It is a waste of time and energy which leads to stressful conflict with others, everyone has a right to their views and often it is wiser to keep them to ourselves. 'if you want to teach don't preach it live it and be an example'
We only seek approval when we lack assurance and do not trust ourselves, why does it matter what others think anyway? The course in miracles states that our belief produces the acceptance of existence of what we chose to take on that is why we can believe what no one else thinks is true. “It is true for you because it is made by you”
Our truth is ours and no one else’s, whether we are aware of it or not we only defend that which we perceive to be weak. The truth is eternal and cannot change or be changed therefore does not need defending. Our truth on the other hand changes as our consciousness expands as we take on new ideas and our perception of life evolves. Consciousness is forever expanding; intelligence is not about knowing everything it is the constant questioning of what we think we know in quest of higher truths.
"Thouroughly unprepared we take the step into
the afternoon of our life;
worse still, we take this step with the false assumption that
Our truths and ideals will serve us as hitherto.
But we cannot live the afternoon of life
According to the programme of life’s morning;
For what was great in the morning will be little use at evening,
And what in the morning was true will
at evening have become lie.”
Carl Jung
Our life is a mirror of what is going on inside us and the ego’s need to be right will create conflicts. When we become aware of this behavior and accept that all conflicts come from within we may consider that the ego’s purpose is to teach us to take responsibility for all that appears in our life and to polish our own mirror so we may achieve inner peace. Freedom comes from accepting full responsibility for whatever manifests in our life so instead of treating the ego as a separate aspect of ourselves it makes sense to embrace it with love and compassion.
Reiki teaches us to step out of our own way to move away from limitation and fear to let go of our need to be right and control in order to allow higher wisdom to flow and guide us so we can be of real assistance to one another. Reiki invites us to expand our awareness and to become an aspirant of wisdom.
Symptoms of Inner Peace
Watch for signs of Peace. The hearts of many have already been exposed to it and it seems likely that we could find our society experiencing it in epidemic proportions. Some signs and symptoms of inner peace:
-
Tendency to think and act spontaneously, rather than from fear.
-
An unmistakable ability to enjoy each moment.
-
Loss of interest in judging others.
-
Loss of interest in judging self.
-
Loss of interest in interpreting the actions of others.
-
Loss of interest in conflict.
-
Loss of ability to worry (a serious symptom).
-
Frequent, overwhelming episodes of appreciation.
-
Contented feeling of connectedness with others and with nature.
-
Frequent attacks of smiling through the eyes and from the heart.
-
Increasing susceptibility to Love extended to others as well as the uncontrollable urge to extend it.
If you have all or even most of the above symptoms, please be advised that your condition may be too far advanced to turn back.
If you are exposed to anyone exhibiting several of these symptoms, remain exposed at your own risk. The condition of Inner Peace is likely to be well into its infectious stage.

Cravings: A Call To Feed The Emotion
By Linda Wojcik
Are we addicted to our emotions? I believe we are. Emotions mirror our food, drug and alcohol addictions. When we take responsibility for our substance abuses, we can understand how our addictions are connected to our emotional body. We cannot heal one without healing the other.
Food in the form of addictions is used to feed emotional pain. Emotional energy cannot exist without being fed. So why would we choose to feed the pain? Feeding an emotion allows us to deny our feelings one more time. If we don’t feel it, we don’t have to deal with it. Hence, the energy remains painfully hidden. Read more...
