Newsletter August 2012
Following a successful launch at the World Saxophone Congress XVI we are delighted to send out this inaugural newsletter from the Tenor Saxophone Index! Now the plan is to send out a TSi newsletter once a month keeping you up to date with the latest goings on.
First of all a massive welcome to our new members who couldn't make the WSC and instead signed up via the website, your support is much appreciated. It was fantastic getting to meet many of you at the WSC, and putting faces to the names of those who have been in contact over the build up to launch. As it currently stands we have over 140 of you lovely people signed up and 206 original works for the tenor saxophone on the Index!
Now please go forth and spread the word of the Tenor Saxophone Index with as many people as possible. It is really important that we build up an audience as it will not only help us but also help you as we collectively discover new works, update information and share our thoughts on the tenor saxophone and music in today's society.

Featured Record
From time to time we will feature a Tenor Saxophone record or publication so it seemed rather appropriate to start with My Mountain Top by Index director Andy Scott.
-
The album showcases modern works for tenor from the solo setting through to the modern cd accompaniment by British composers such as Graham Fitkin, Richard Rodney Bennett, Dave Heath and Scott himself. Played expertly by all musicians the album serves as a very important record of modern written tenor playing and composition!
~
Andy Scott - Saxophone
Peter Lawson - Piano
Lauren Scott - Harp
