Register Now: Free Underwriting Training for NSP Grantees
HUD is pleased to announce that space is still available for the final three classes of free underwriting training for NSP grantees. National Development Council’s (NDC) Housing Development Finance Professional Certification Program is open to all NSP grantees at no cost as part of HUD's technical assistance effort. Grantees need only pay any related travel costs. All participants must be registered by September 4th. For more information see below or visit NDC's website.

NSP Problem Solving Clinic Training Materials - April - July 2012
These presentations are from the NSP Problem Solving Clinics which took place from April - July 2012. The clinics featured one-on-one sessions with HUD staff and expert technical assistance providers, as well as workshops and policy updates. The regionally-focused clinics covered program management, technical issues, and program design topics relevant for all NSP grantees. Presentation slides for the workshops are available. Developers and Subrecipients: The Differences, Procurement, and Other Rules Surrounding Each Webinar Transcript - July 24, 2012
This webinar is intended for all NSP grantees and their partners interested in the distinction between developers and subrecipients as well as the application of various HUD and OMB rules. The presenter discusses how subrecipients and developers may be selected and what procurement rules each must follow. The webinar also covers eligible forms of compensation for developers and subrecipients. At the conclusion of the presentation, the presenter reviews several situations with webinar attendees to determine whether an entity is a subrecipient or a developer and why. The National Mortgage Settlement: What Does This Mean for NSP? Webinar Recording and Transcript - July 31, 2012
This webinar is intended for NSP grantees interested in learning more about the National Mortgage Settlement - a $25 billion settlement between state attorneys general and the top five mortgage servicers that settles claims of mortgage servicing abuses and improper foreclosure practices. In this webinar, the National Community Stabilization Trust provides an overview of the National Mortgage Settlement terms, examines the settlement's "anti-blight" provisions, illustrates ways the settlement is impacting the neighborhood stabilization space, as well as suggests ways NSP grantees can work with servicers to ensure the settlement enhances their local community revitalization efforts.
