Finergy Nokomis Project Finergy recently received approval from the Sarasota Board of County Commissioners to borrow up to $10.4MM through the Recovery Zone Bond Facility Program.
The allocation allows Finergy to sell tax-exempt bonds to investors in order to finance the construction of a new 100-room Hilton Garden Inn hotel in Nokomis, Florida.
We want to take this opportunity to publicly thank the County Commission as well as County Staff and the Sarasota Economic Development Corporation for their leadership and guidance.
Nothing could have been done without the support of the Nokomis Area Civic Association. We've received countless letters and emails in support of the application and we cannot thank enough the local Community for the trust that has been placed in Finergy.
The project is critical to the revitalization of the area and will generate hundreds of local jobs.
The road ahead is still long and the economic climate remains challenging but we understand that expectations are high and our team will strive to deliver a project that everyone will be proud of.

Jobsite Update
The Hampton Inn and Suites at Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport is nearing completion. As you can see below, we are preparing to open the hotel in just a few days.
Finishes are almost complete, furniture and equipment are in, parking lot is paved, swimming pool is ready. Just lofts of details to finish off, final inspections to pass, staff to train and we will be ready to welcome our first guests!

Finergy Green Highlight
In Florida, the operation of the air conditioning and heating equipment uses more than 80% of the energy consumed in a hotel guestroom. Finergy has installed a smart InnCOM Energy Management system at the Hampton Inn and Suites at Sarasota Airport.  The thermostats installed in the rooms are equipped with a door switch and
an occupancy sensor which allow the air conditioning unit to reset to a
preset temperature when the room is vacant. Those new thermostats are able
to detect occupancy while guests are sleeping at night and there is no
motion in the room. They are also very easy to operate and ensure guest
satisfaction.
Thermal comfort and energy saving are no
longer conflicting thanks to those new "smart" systems. They are very efficient
in conserving energy and reducing building operating cost.

Firmo, Italia
 Many of you have come to us and asked to explain where the name "Firmo Construction" comes from.
Firmo is the name of a small village perched in the mountains in Calabria (Southern Italy). Our family is originally from Firmo and we pay a tribute to our ancestors and family history everyday by operating under this name.
2,600 people currently live in Firmo. The village has a website (but no Facebook page yet) where you can read more (in Italian or Albanian!) about the history, traditions and lifestyle in Firmo.
