Fall is my favourite time of year. The warm sunny days and crisp cool evenings are so soothing after the long days and nights of heat. I recently was out for an evening walk with my wife and noticed how quickly the trees are changing colour and how quickly the sun goes down behind the mountains. Just down the way is a field full of pumpkins awaiting the first frost so they can be ready for various fall celebrations – one of which is Thanksgiving, my favourite holiday.
 
Thanksgiving is a great tradition where we celebrate the fruit of the land by giving thanks to God for his abundant blessing and provision in our lives. It’s only fitting that we at Focus on the Family designated October as Clergy Appreciation Month – a month where we say “thank you” to the men and women who invest so much of their time and energy to help people grow closer in their walk with God.
