Barossa Future Leaders

19-25 August 2012

Novotel Barossa Valley Resort

What an amazing week.
The week was intense, fun, provocative and successful.

For the participants - taking the time to step back from 'life & work' to have a look at it - was cherished. What are you doing? Where do you want to be? How are you going to get there?  "Begin with the end in mind", thanks Covey.

This program was a community driven, grass roots initiative to up-skill community leaders to ensure the region retains a vibrant, resilient and creative economy.  The program was delivered in part by Adelaide University's Executive Education Unit and local non-academics who are leaders in their field, and current community leaders.  It drew together 'community topics' to make participants think about how they will lead their community, topics covered current issues and future opportunities that will challenge and strengthen the Barossa community.

For the sponsors - One wonders if the sponsors really know how their gift of time, money or services is making a difference, not only in the 16 people who undertook the week long course, but in the families and workplaces of the participants and in the community as a whole through the syndicates consultation. But the most important thing is that this difference will continue into the future - this ripple effect is strong.

Ultimately the success of this program in undoubtedly as a result of the passion and commitment of the Barossa community into its future.

The Participants

Anyone having a 'quick juggle' every now and then?

Are your notes and journals helping?
What has stuck in your mind from the week that was?
How have you grown? What are you doing differently?

Should a Christmas get together be organised?

To ensure the success of next years program, make sure you talk about the BFLP, comment back to the organising team with any feedback that you might think of, or how you might be involved in the future.

Kegel anyone?
