Dear Colleagues,
Welcome back! After a busy summer, CTV is embracing the renewed energy of our faculty and students on campus, and the excitement around entrepreneurship and science throughout New York City. This past year, CTV is happy to report 16 new startups launched out of our Venture Lab, over 70 new technology license agreements, and over 350 new inventions. We are grateful for the continued support of Columbia’s researchers and our licensing partners in our efforts to move promising technologies closer to becoming products on the market.
To facilitate the work of Columbia researchers, CTV recently introduced our Executives in Residence, a program bringing prominent executives from industry to work with our office and faculty for three month terms, and launched a managed list of technology development resources at Columbia. CTV is also working closely with other groups on campus to manage the Columbia-Coulter Translational Research Partnership, a five-year grant to develop solutions that will improve patient care.
This Fall, there are a number of promising events planned around the City, some of which are highlighted below. We look forward to seeing some of you there, and to many opportunities to work together!
