International Yoga Month

September 2012 | Gingerpedia - Consumer Edition

September is International Yoga Month and studios across the US are scheduling special events and activities to commemorate the occasion. But did you know The Ginger People® have been embracing yoga for many years? We even have a yoga ginger mascot that is featured on our tonics’ labels - Ginger Soother® and Ginger EnerGizer™.

Why are ginger and Yoga synergistic? One reason is that ginger is known for its warming abilities and has been used by Ayurvedic practitioners for centuries as a stimulant to help regain balance and harmony. The same way Yoga brings inner peace and promotes stress relief, ginger is used as a soothing and rejuvenating remedy.

Ginger and yoga also share an ability to assist with Rheumatoid arthritis and Osteoarthritis. In numerous studies ginger, a natural anti-inflammatory, has been shown to be effective in relieving pain and stiffness when taken internally or applied topically. Combining organic essential oil with natural anti-neuralgic organic tamanu oil, The Ginger People’s GO Ginger Balm is a great massaging tool for relieving muscle pain and creaky joints. Combine this with yoga, a gentle exercise recommended by many health experts to help lubricate run-down cartilages and promote preventive joint health.

So this September, let’s celebrate yoga together by being mindful of our health and by giving a gingery “Namaste”!

GO Ginger Balm is part of The Ginger People’s GO Skin Care range. For more information visit www.gogingerpeople.com
