Regional Fire Conference

January 29-31 2013, Dubuque Iowa


 

Registration for the 2013 Tallgrass Prairie and Oak Savanna Regional Fire Conference is now open.

This event will be a regional gathering of prescribed fire practitioners, researchers, ecologists, land managers, and land owners.
 
Join us to tell the unique story of prescribed fire in our region, share stories of lessons learned, while inspiring a path forward into the future role of fire.

 
Highlights will include:

  • Case studies from across the region that brings places, people and partnerships together
  • Researchers presenting new and cutting edge ideas and concepts
  • Experienced prescribed fire managers presenting on planning, techniques, and logistics of burns
  • Presentations on the most debated and rapidly changing fire issues in the region

Call For Abstracts

We are seeking oral and poster presentations on topics related to fire in the prairie, savanna, and oak woodland region of the Midwestern United States.  Submit a summary of your presentation, and share your experience and knowledge with a regional audience of fire practitioners, ecologists, and researchers.

Prescribed Fire Field Trip
 

Quincy Bluffs State Natural Area, Adams Friendship WI
Friday Sep 28 2012; 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

 

Please join us for a free field trip to view and discuss the effects from previous prescribed burns at Quincy Bluff State Natural Area.  This 5,348 acre property is a joint project between the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and The Nature Conservancy, with nearly 20 years of fire management history.
