"I'm afraid of failure."
Response: I love the refrigerator magnet that says, "What would you do if you were absolutely sure you could not fail?" If fear of failure is taken out of the picture, possibilities come to mind we never would have considered. It sets us free to take the risks necessary for any really successful endeavor.
In the parable of the talents in Matthew 25, all are commended except the one who buried the talent entrusted to him and did nothing with it at all:
"Master," he said, "I was afraid and went out and hid your talent in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you."
His master replied, "You wicked, lazy servant!... Take the talent from him and give it to the one who has the ten talents. For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance."
The only way we can really fail is to play it safe and take no risks. But if we use the little we have, God promises to multiply it.
Have a blessed day!
See you tomorrow,
Barb
