Center Stage Wellness - Healthy News from Stacy

Are you still feeling busy, Sunshine?

Remember our priority exercise from the other week? Where do YOU fall?

Are you even on your list?

"Before I can take good care of anything or anyone, I must first take good care of myself." - Spencer Johnson, One Minute for Yourself

If you're taking care of your partner/kids/business all the time, who is taking care of you? Expecting other people to take care of us is not only disempowering, but causes resentment when our expectations are unfufilled. Sound familiar?

The good news: You have the power to change that right now.

Self-care doesn't have to mean an expensive spa treatment or retail therapy (though it could).
It may be as simple as:
  • a few minutes reading your favorite magazine
  • doing 15 minutes of yoga
  • making a coffee or Skype date with a friend

When we put ourselves last, we resent whatever is ahead of us on the list - even though we made that list ourselves. Where are you feeling anger or resentment in your life?

"The more I take good care of myself, the less resentment and anger I feel and the more loving I become toward myself and others."

What's ONE SMALL THING you can do to put yourself first, Sunshine?

Write it on a sticky note. Write it on your mirror. Write it on your to-do list. Email it to yourself. Email it to me! Put it in your smart phone. Write it on your hand! Write it down, make it real. Then DO SOMETHING for yourself, no matter how small.

P.S. The more resistance you feel to this one, the more you need it. Just give it a try.
P.P.S. Or you could make yourself a healthier chocolate treat. Then come back and do the exercise.
