Wine & Food Club
At the ABWM House in Bangsar
Starts 12th October
2x Fridays every month
11.30 am - 1.30pm
Open to non-members, newcomers and existing students (who would like to refresh the memory).
The emphasis will be on enjoyment of wine and food matching in a relaxed atmosphere. I try to take the stuffiness out of the tasting process. Hopefully at the same time you will learn all about the different flavour profiles of the various grape varieties, giving you confidence to make the right wine choices in either a restaurant or wine shop setting.
I use different recipes each session and share those with you. I have to admit to being a Nigella fan; she has a whole new set of recipes that are just waiting for that perfect wine.
I will hold 2 sessions a month, dates will be flexible as I know we are all busy. Come along for a trial; you may get hooked – I still am - there is always something new to learn.
-Spend the lunchtime learning about the numerous grape varieties & wine regions
- Understand wine labels and what influences the different styles of wines
- Taste up to 4 wines each time along with a well-matched light lunch
- Pick up some new recipes too
RM115 each session

Recipe of the Month:
Damp Lemon & Almond Cake
I have consistently used this in the lessons covering Riesling. To me this is citrus on a plate and so matches the classic flavour profile of the wine. The recipe works well with the dry versions but get anything above Kabinett sweetness and this is the pud to have.
Wine of the Month:
Equinox, Riesling, Waipara Valley, New Zealand, 2011
A limited offer for this exceptional wine. It has been described as having a late harvest character. So expect an abundance of sweet-tasting fruit but from a dry wine.
It would be a perfect match for this month's recipe............
