Article on structural soil
The prestigious landscape magazine PAISEA asked for an article on the technology of structural soil, a paving sub-base which makes compatible the agronomic functions (the soil) with the physic needs (the structure).
We are very proud of it:
PAISEA is a bilingual (english and spanish) landscape magazine which is well regarded amongst landscape architects.
And then, this relatively little known and used technique has shown to us its viability and we feel -together with other professionals- a little pioneers when it comes to it.
The Landscape Biennal rewards a great project
Finally the Rosa Barba prize from the Biennal del Paisatge chooses a good project after so many years!
Our admired coleague Martí Franch, with Ton Ardèvol, have undertaken the deconstruction of the Club-Med in Cap de Creus
This time, the jury has taken into account sensibility and elegance, instead of banality and photogenic effectism.
We congratulate the jury, the promoters ans specially, the author.

Landcape masterplan around St. Magí's church
Complete renovation in Sant Coloma de Queralt, Tarragona
St Magí's church, was built towards the end of the 17th century and then restored in 2006 by a group of citizens in Sta. Coloma de Queralt. It now sits in no-mans land between a new road and its former track.
The managers of the monument, a local volunteers association, commissioned this preliminary project.
The space will include traditional dry stone retaining walls to limit the shaded square for the annual meetings, as well as an exercise area and a resting area with a fountain for the elders.
This intervention appeals to us specially because it's being promoted by a civic organisation. We hope that the works may start soon.
Automn planting at WTC
Subtitution of Pachysandra terminalis
Shrub bed of Pittosporum tobira Nana under the mulberry trees
At the WTC garden in Cornellà we are changing some of the planting that did not thrive. The species chosen in exchange of the Pachysandra are Pittosporum tobira Nana, Vinca major and Phyla nodiflora.
