Have a very safe and happy holiday!
4m3D - Newsletter

Holidays will soon be here...

It’s that time of year again ... we are all so busy that the Holidays seem so far off, but in reality they are just around the corner.   I hope you all had a good, if not great, year and that you are looking forward to spending a bit of time with Family and Friends very soon!

This month I have a very special gift to pass on to you. A model that I hope will become a great gift idea for you to make and give to your loved ones.

Have a safe and happy holiday!

Monthly Free Model

To keep with the holiday theme, I wanted to give you not only a free model but a model that would be an almost ready-made gift (with the exception of your time and materials).

It was modeled to accept a small 1.5" votive candle if machined with a 3” diameter.  It can be sized up to allow for a candle with a larger diameter.

This model can be downloaded in two different file formats: .rlf (ArtCAM) or .stl (Aspire, DeskProto and just about any other CNC/3D modeling/tooling software).

Feel free to download the new model. The only two things I ask are that you do not resell it as a model without my written permission and if you use it I would really like to see what you have done with it. You may even get a mention in a future newsletter. Download Link

Votive candle model was downloaded from Turbosquid and was a free model.

Did you know?

There are plenty of sources out there for 2.5D and 3D models.  Off the top of my head, I can think of 5 or 6 all offering different styles, themes and quality.  Even with all of those options you still may not find the exact model you need.  “Something close” does not always work and may not reflect your quality commitment to your end customer.

When you can’t find that perfect model or need edits to a model you already have you might consider requesting a custom quote from me.

I work closely with you to create the perfect model that you can be confident will machine precisely and make your end customer very happy!  I know that creating those relationships between you and your customers is important so they will pass your name along to their friends and family and become return customers themselves.

If you are interested in having me look at a project you are considering making or quoting on a custom model, please contact me and I would be happy to discuss your needs!

Thanks for sharing!

This month I want to show you a piece I modeled for Trent Wood. As I am sure you will all notice, his finished work is fantastic and the model created an amazing part.

I know having a perfect model to start from is important but equally as important is the skill of the person/company that is doing the finishing and installation!  Trent and his team took a great model and turned it into a beautiful focal point of one of the most important rooms of a home... the kitchen.

Finished work!
Amazing work Trent and thank you for sharing!

And I’ll leave you with this link...

Over the last few months I have been working on a new project and want you all to be the first to know about it.

I have noticed a lack of small themed collections of relief models out there.  Collections of reliefs, 3-6 models, that can be combined together or arranged in different ways to make several different projects. I would like to introduce CNCminiProjects to all of you “Weekend CNC Warriors” out there.

I’m not going to spend a lot of time in this newsletter talking about it so if you are interested in what this new project will evolve into, please sign up for its newsletter or twitter feed. Later this month there will be two more mini-projects added and 2 every month after that.

I would appreciate if you all just popped over to visit and let us know what you think.

Thanks for reading and be safe!
