HAPPY BIRTHDAY WEST SIDE MARKET!

At every major milestone, there has been a birthday cake to honor the West Side Market.  Thank you to West Side Market vendor, Cake Royale for donating the cake pictured above for the West Side Market Centennial Birthday on November 2nd.  Additionally, Grandma Campbell's Fresh Bake and Reinecker's Bakery showed their #wsm100 love and added to over 500 pieces of FREE cake for customers and vendors.

Thanks to everyone who participated and joined the students from Ohio City's Urban Community School who sang "Happy Birthday" to the Market.

Check out a VIDEO that captures the entire year of celebrating, presented by Charter One.

CENTENNIAL BREW

GREAT LAKES BREWING COMPANY'S DEBUT OF BUTCHER'S BREW

GLBC Announcing Butcher's Brew

As a longtime supporter and neighbor of West Side Market, Great Lakes Brewing Company (GLBC) proudly presents Butcher’s Brew, a Kulmbacher-style lager brewed exclusively for West Side Market’s Centennial Celebration.

In 1910, there were 26 operating breweries in Cleveland. Many of these breweries produced European-influenced lagers, which were popular at the time. By the time GLBC opened in 1988, all of Cleveland’s larger breweries had already closed their doors. Pat and Dan Conway were excited to bring brewing back to Cleveland and establish GLBC’s identity with the flavorful styles they’d discovered on their travels to Europe. Butcher’s Brew, a tawny, toasty Kulmbacher-style lager with lightly roasted malt character and subtle hop aromas, is packaged in a commemorative 22 ounce bottle. Its artwork depicts  the stone sculpture of an ox whose head peers over the peak of the Market.

“Having been neighbors and buyers of various foods from the West Side Market for 24 years as well serving as a favorite watering hole for thirsty workers and patrons of the market, it just seemed right that we help the neighborhood and city toast to another 100 years of success of this nationally recognized institution.” – Pat Conway

Thank you to the entire GLBC team for supporting the West Side Market!
