Accreditation Update

Thank you to everyone to participated in the on-site visit. From the reception donated by the Korducki family, to the PTO meals, to all the parents, students, alumni, and faculty that were interviewed, to all the smiling faces in the hallway; thank you for helping showcase our beautiful and extraordinary school.

Accreditation is a service provided to full-member schools by the American Montessori Society.

All AMS accredited schools must maintain compliance with school accreditation standards and work toward continuous improvement. Each accredited school submits a yearly report outlining progress toward the objectives in its strategic plan.

Pam, Sheila and Kathy were our on-site visit team members this week.  They were extremely impressed with all constituents: parents, students, alumni and faculty. They praised us for our wonderful school culture, rich school materials, and preparedness of our alumni.

Their final report will be given to us in the next  few weeks and then sent to the AMS Accreditation Commissioner.

The Montessori School of Bowling Green was the first school in Ohio to successfully complete accreditation through AMS. We have been accredited for 21 years.

Welcome Miss Shelby!

Shelby Palumbo joined the extended care team! She will be taking over for some of Miss Susannah's time so the Miss Susannah can concentrate on other projects at our school and at BGSU.  Shelby is one of our methods students and is very experienced with children.

School delays and closings
The Montessori School of Bowling Green does not follow any other district for delays and closings. School may be delayed or closed when road conditions are hazardous. In order to give our families plenty of notice, we will announce a delay or closing by 6:30am by email and on our Facebook page. A delay may occur if the weather is treacherous at 6:30am and improves by 8am OR if it's challenging to determine to due darkness, lack of road clearance, etc. A closing may be warranted as early as 6:30am if conditions are hazardous. It is also announced on local radio and TV stations listed as "Montessori School of Bowling Green" or "BG Montessori."
