Lake Erie Science Field Trips for Grades 4-12

Stone Lab’s Lake Erie Science Field Trips give students the chance to study Lake Erie for a day, first on a research vessel, then in the Gibraltar Island lab. Additional activities can be added to create a one-day or two-day trip, including a stay in the island dormitory.

A Season of Impact at Stone Lab

Stone Lab not only acts as Ohio Sea Grant’s education and research facility on Lake Erie, but also hosts a number of outreach events every year. 2012 was especially impactful, as Gibraltar Island hosted prominent donors, journalists, government officials, and representatives of environmental organizations such as The Nature Conservancy.
