SEA-Media:
The "go-to" place for media about our Northwest waters...
Dear Friends of SEA-Media,
As 2012 is moving into its last act, I would like to point out the many actors, authors, filmmakers, scientists and artists who have created works for our enjoyment — and to help us see a marine world that is generally not visible to us.
SEA-Media’s web site has drawn more attention to the works of these pioneers, making them more available to the public.
In the last year, we've seen visits to our web site grow from a few curious sightseers to a steady stream of visitors. But we need your help today to turn that activity into lasting, sustainable change.
Your donations will help implement SEA-Media's strategic plan to create a bigger splash in the media for our Northwest waters. The first step is to revise our web site to make it easier for you to find or contribute media, and less overhead for us to maintain.  This will require $2,500 by January 2012. To make that really achievable, an anonymous donor will match your donations from now until Dec 31, 2012. As of this writing, we’ve already raised almost 25% of that target.
SEA-Media is a tax exempt nonprofit organization, so donations are tax deductible. Please
make a contribution now, while your gift will be doubled.

Thanks from the water,

Biology teacher, scuba diver, nature photographer, and whale researcher Jackie Hildering puts it this way, "If there is one thing I hope to achieve with my photography, it is to shatter the perception that — because you can’t see to the bottom — there must not be much life in these waters.
The opposite it true."
