Shawn Hershey and Natalya Gomez are teaching Lindy and Blues Workshops this Saturday in East Hartford! Shawn and Natalya will also be available for private lessons on Sunday in Simsbury. 1. HU Lesson Series: Wed in Nov from 7-8pm @ Shish
Lindy Hop 101: This class will get you swinging out, turning, and mixing your 6-count and 8-count basics! If you've taken this class before, take advantage of the 50% retake discount! No partner or experience required.
Weekly Drop-in Classes in Lindy Hop 102 Topics: If you're comfortable with your swing out and want to learn more, this class will address moves, variations, and stylings that will take your swing out to the next level. No partner required.
3. Vinnie's Swing and Blues Practicum: Mondays
Practicum is the perfect opportunity to practice your dancing in a low-key and friendly setting. Join us every Monday night and dance with swing and bluesers of all levels. Beginners welcome! We will dance some swing and some blues, adjusting based on the requests of the dancers. It’s flexible, it’s fun, and it’s FREE!

3:00-4:00 Putting the Fun in Fundamentals
We assume you already know the basics of Lindy Hop and have been dancing for some time. But having awesome basics is usually what makes dancing feel amazing. The best dancers never stop working on fundamentals. In this class we'll work on how to lead and follow the flow of the dance and connecting each move to the next in one continuous dance of awesomeness.
4:15 - 5:15 Partnered Styling and Rhythmic Variations
It's super fun when both leaders and followers have a voice in Lindy Hop. One really fun and interactive technique is styling and rhythmic variations. We'll provide some concrete styling and rhythmic variations that you can use to make your basics flavorful. We'll additionally talk about some of the techniques involved in making up your own variations and style.
5:30 - 6:30 Slow Dancing
Slow Dancing is great and very different from medium and up tempo Lindy Hop. Lindy Hop dances often feature some slow jazz ballads. Blues weekends consist of a mix of blues music and slow jazz. We'll teach you some fundamentals and some cool moves that will prepare you for slow jazz songs, blues dance weekends, and blues house parties. If you haven't learned to dance slow, now's the time to do it. If you're already a blues dancer or slow dancer, come refine your movement and learn some cool moves.

After absorbing some awesome from Shawn and Natalya all afternoon, why not get some solid dance time in too?
