Taste Good & Do Good
Saturday, Nov. 10th, 1-5pm
$20 per person, $10 instant savings

We will all have a lot to be thankful for when we sit down to our feasts later this month. Join us for our annual Thanksgiving Workshop, where we help you determine what will taste best on your holiday table. Spoon Catering Co. is preparing all of the food -- including roasted turkey with all the trimmings, veggie side dishes and their trademark mini pumpkin whoopie pies and pecan-walnut pie bars --  paired with 12 wines & spirits. Tickets are $20/person with a coupon for $10 in instant savings for purchases made that day. Net profits benefit City Harvest, which is working tirelessly to feed our neighbors after Hurricane Sandy.

Team in the Times!

We were honored to have part of our hard-working team (Virginie Reynaud & Melitza Delmarco) featured in a Sunday New York Times story about businesses coping with the challenges of operating in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

We Do

Free Delivery. Place an order for $150 or more by 2pm, we'll deliver it anywhere in Manhattan for free the next business day. Free same day delivery, with no minimum order, from 9th to 29th Streets between 3rd and 8th Avenues. Other boroughs and everywhere else (where it's legal!) via UPS for a fee.

Latest & Greatest

We made the most of the post-Sandy blackout to host a series of spontaneous free tastings. Here's a taste of what we were drinking in the dark.

Chateau Moulin de la Roquille. Bordeaux Cuvée l'Esperance 2009 3L
France > Bordeaux >> Côtes de Francs. $39

Situated east of the Gironde and neighbor to St. Emilion, the Côtes de Francs contains Bordeaux's highest vineyards and is also one of France's tiniest appellations, covering a scant 450 hectares. Cuvée l'Esperance is cold tank fermented and aged in oak for 12 months before bottling (or bagging and boxing) and is silky, super-smooth and delicious. 3 Liters = 4 standard bottles.

Kraken. Black Spiced Rum
Trinidad & Tobago. $24

The perfect base for a Dark and Stormy, this Caribbean rum is aged for 12-24 months before being blended with a proprietary mix that includes cinnamon, ginger and clove.

Domaine de Canton. Ginger Liqueur
France > Charente >> Jarnac. $33

An exotic infusion of baby Vietnamese ginger, Tahitian vanilla bean, honey, ginseng and VSOP Cognac, meant to evoke the flavors of French Indochina, Domaine du Canton has taken the cocktail world b storm.  While no less than F. Paul Pacult called it, "a perfect liqueur." We called it part of a Dark and Stormy.

Smooth Ambler. Old Scout Bourbon
USA > West Virginia. $36

With a tasting note that refers to flavors of cinnamon, eucalyptus, spearmint and oak, it's easy to see why we cracked this one open in the dark!

Red Breast. 12 Year Cask Strength Irish Whiskey
Ireland. $82

Voted Irish Whiskey of the Year by the Whiskey Advocate, this is a serious sip. The mag says it is a, "rich, bittersweet...oaky-spiced delight...the increased strength gives an already great whiskey a richer, fuller, fruitier dimension." We say, "Yes, please!"
