A COMMUNITY EVENT
KILIMANI FESTIVAL
THE ART OF COMMUNITY:
FROM COMPLAINT TO CHOICE

Coming This Week

Join in the fun of the 'art of community'!

Volunteer this week, 2 hours, a day...it is all welcomed.  We aren't too busy to build community, are you?

Click here or call 0720311893 to learn more about volunteer opportunities.

It can be said that everything that is needed is available in communities.  Communities on all scales - family, groups, neighborhoods, society and the universe - hold all the resources, tools, information, roles and care to provide success.

This has definitely been the case with The Kilimani Project initiative.  The tally is still running but we are up to just over Ksh 2,000,000 in donations.  Donations are pouring in as in-kind services from suppliers, entertainment, collaborative exchange and out right donations.

Let's keep digging.  The less we spend directly on activities the more we can spend on a gift for Kilimani.

Kili-conversations

Saturday, 15 December
Kilimani Primary School

Come one, come all for conversations about what matters to community.  The schedule and topics of the talks are as follows:

11.00 First Kili-conversation - The Bypass: Progress and Prospects
After considerable delay, Kilimani seems set to be opened up by a major road
connecting James Gichuru road and Ngong road. What plans are there for public
transport, pedestrians and cyclists? What has prompted the extensive delays and
when is it likely to be finished? Join those responsible for building the road and hear
what they have to say.

13.00 Second Kili-conversation – The KilimaniWeWant: Experts share plans
for developing Kilimani
The rapid growth in private development is currently unmatched by investment
in public infrastructure. What plans are being made to cope with the increase of
residents and their demand for water, sanitation and electricity? Will our roads hold
or simply clog up? Join a panel of experts discuss the future of Kilimani.

15.00 Third Kili-conversation: Conversations with aspiring leaders
March 4 will see Kilimani residents elect their Councilor, Member of Parliament and
Governor. What is their vision for the Kilimani they want? What issues should they
be focusing on?  What mandate do we want to give them? Engage the aspirants on
what issues matter to you?
