Merry Christmas from the Brown's!
Tom Brown c/o AIM Air
Merry Christmas!
We are coming out of seasons where everything in life seems to be put “on hold” for the life changing event upon us.

In the past 6 months:

     - We were able to go on one of Tom’s flights for a missionary family who works with the Samburu tribe in northern Kenya.  Life was “put on hold” as the three of us were out in the bush for 4 days getting to see the ministry of these missionaries that Tom is life-line to as a pilot.
     - AIM AIR leadership asked Tom to take the role of Chief Inspector for AIM Air, in which Tom will oversee the maintenance of the airplanes and be ultimately responsible for the quality of the repair and upkeep of the aircraft.  It is a management position with a huge amount of responsibility.  Though a great honor to be asked, we “put life on hold” to seek counsel and to dedicate time to pray over the decision.  Tom has accepted the position and is scheduled to begin transition to the position in January, 2013
     - That decision came while preparing to return to the U.S., for the first time since moving to Kenya 9 months ago,  for Ali’s brother’s wedding.  We put life on hold to prepare for and celebrate the marriage of JR Weaver and Bailey Britt on November 17, 2012.  What a delight to join family and friends in this joyful and memorable occasion!
     - While in the United States, we planned to see a thyroid specialist regarding Ali’s Graves disease (an auto immune disease that makes her thyroid over-active).  Though Ali has felt healthy for the most part in Kenya, doctors stress the detrimental long-term negative effects the disease could have on Ali’s body if not treated appropriately.  After much prayer, discussion, and deliberation with the doctor, it was decided best for Ali to undergo Radioactive Iodine Treatment (RAI).  This procedure kills Ali’s thyroid.  As I (Ali) write this update life is “on hold” as I am radioactive and in isolation!

Crescena continues to be a bridge to relationship as she draws Africans in with her animated smile, towhead blond hair, and blue eyes!  Crescena is quite the firecracker already and is beginning to string 3 words together making quasi-sentences!  She turns 2 in February and we can’t imagine what the toddler years will bring.

We are grateful for family and friends and for the fellowship we have been able to have while back in the states for a time.  Being “home” in the US with family and friends is a delight, but has confirmed for us that our home is now in Kenya.  We look forward to returning to the relationships and ministry we have in Nairobi.

Merry Christmas,

Tom, Ali, & Crescena

PS - Thank you to everyone who contributed to our vehicle fund!  We are delighted to announce we purchased the van and a motorcycle this week which will be waiting for us when we return to Kenya.
