May your days be merry and bright!

From Urban bible outreach

Twas the night before Christmas, when in Dallas/Ft. Worth
Former lost ones experienced a miraculous new birth!
The homeless and hungry and searching and scared
Now clothed and fed by many servants who cared.

When their tummies were full and their bodies were warmed
A plan by God’s Spirit to draw them was formed.
God’s Word they did hold, in their life-seeking hands
Given by believers who longed to share the Master’s plan.

Donations you did give, the Great Commission your cue
God’s love and His overwhelming grace compelled you.
Urban Bible Outreach was there to guide your heart
Towards a mission of which you could be a part.

The lost ones read the love story from God
Of the peace that He offered them, they were awed
Hopelessness and separation can be traded, it would seem
Because of Jesus, their life He could redeem!

Now, pain!  Now, hunger!  Now, hopelessness and strongholds!
On, despair!  On, hungry!  On, secret fears untold!
The Lord wants to heal!  He will answer the call!
Now dash away, darkness, dash away all!

Praise!
When we began brainstorming Urban Bible Outreach, we planned and organized and dreamed, but it is always something completely different when the Lord takes the wheel and you end up being passengers along for the ride.  After a handful of committed supporters began networking on behalf of Urban Bible Outreach, one connection led to another and I found myself talking to a team at Lifeway Christian Resources here in Plano.  They shared my passion for getting the life-changing, hope-giving Word of God into the hands of hurting people in our communities and have now asked us to partner with them beginning January 1st in an ongoing Bible drive benefiting the community through the mission of Urban Bible Outreach.  Join us, Prayer Team, in praising God for His wonderful provision!   It only takes one connection to ignite the flame of a God-given partnership, and that means lost ones reached for Christ and their soul-hunger satisfied!  "For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things" (Psalm 107:9).

Ripple Effect:
I am reminded of my mother who nearly 40 years ago was stopped on the street and given a Bible by a woman named Lois.  My mother gave her life to Jesus in that moment and in the 4 decades that followed, my life and the lives of countless people have changed (and passed from spiritual death to eternal life) because of that ONE Bible Lois gave.  Just like the ripple effect, are there any people in your life that share your heart for the lost and lonely with whom you could share the mission of Urban Bible Outreach?  Please prayerfully consider joining us in that network.  I am available to send you as many of our color brochures and self-addressed stamped envelopes for all the friends and family you want to invite to be a part of an rewarding mission with eternal consequences.

Volunteer Opportunities:
After the New Year, Urban Bible Outreach will be assembling a group of volunteers for “Packing Parties” and deliveries.  For those of you who are local, and are interested in volunteering, we are initially looking at one evening every other month or so in which we will meet, sort Bibles for various organizations, pack boxes, and have volunteers drop off a box within 20-25 miles of Plano at their convenience.  Please let me know if you are interested in being made aware of these volunteer opportunities.  This would bless us greatly.

Support:
Thank you again for your prayers and financial support!  We are continuing to work on a need for 30 Study Bibles for a Dallas organization that shares the gospel and disciples the homeless, as well as children’s Bibles for numerous organizations in need.  Please remember that December is an excellent time for year-end giving, with 100% of your donation being tax-deductible.  If you would like to make a year-end donation, you can donate by check to our address below or by credit card on our website.  By joining us in this way, you store up “treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal” (Matthew 6:20).  Thank you for prayerfully considering us in your year-end giving.
