Mark your calendar for the Month Long Bring It On!
This January we are replacing the 4th Annual Downhill Dash with our newly consolidated scholarship fundraiser, the Epic “Month Long Bring It On”. Instead of selling holiday trees and greenery, or raffle tickets, we are combining all of our efforts into this one all-important, MAJOR scholarship fundraiser. The newly-formed “Month Long Bring It On” ski/ride-a-thon is for ALL of our disciplines and our goal is to have ALL of our athletes participate. There will be goals set for each discipline with prizes available to the highest goal achievers, as well as for the highest fundraisers. We are looking forward to having one super fun and all-encompassing fundraiser.

Pick up and drop off policies at the SSCV Clubhouse
The 2012-2013 winter season has already started for some and is beginning to start for others. As the club gets busier, we ask that you pay special attention to our guidelines for pick up and drop off. As many of you know, we have a small space to work with when you are dropping off and picking up your athletes. To ensure a smooth drop off and pick up process, we ask that you adhere to the following guidelines, as printed in the 2012-2013 Parent/Athlete Handbook.
AT THE CLUBHOUSE
The only drop-off and pick-up area for athletes is through the club parking lot, not the Town of Vail Bus Stop or Vail Valley Drive. Please note that traffic flows from west to east, that there are two “lanes” of traffic and that the speed limit on campus is five miles per hour. When entering the club grounds and drive up to the furthest traffic one or next car in line. Drivers should drop off athletes at this point. It is important that everyone stay in their “lane” during carpool; changing lanes endangers children and coaches. Cars should never pass if the line is slow; cars should also never park in the diagonal spots that are marked. During morning drop-off, athletes should remain in vehicles until a coach approaches the vehicle to unload. Drop-off will go smoothly if all drivers stay in their cars. (Those who wish to park are asked to do so in designated spaces in a Town of Vail or Vail Resorts parking lot.) Drivers are asked not to use cellular phones during carpool because it distracts them from their responsibility.
