November 2012 Newsletter
Giving Thanks!!!

We hope that this newsletter finds you well and that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. It is hard to believe that the holiday season is here. I will say that I don't miss all the holiday ads we are so used to seeing in the States!

We were blessed to share a Thanksgiving meal with some fellow CCCD missionaries this past Saturday. It felt very different not seeing family on Thanksgiving for the first time for the both of us. Thursday was just a normal work day, so it was a little strange! Krista was in the classroom and Ben was doing busy work for the village.

Looking back over the year we have SO much to be thankful for:
-We had a new niece and a new nephew born, both perfectly healthy
-We feel we have acclimated well to Jamaica and to CCCD
-Growing relationships with the deaf here as well as the teachers at Knockpatrick
-The chance to spend more time together this fall and a great marriage
-Amazing financial and prayer support from people like you
-God's saving grace and faithfulness in everything!

The list could go on and on!

Orphanage Outreach
On November 10, we had the chance to be a part of an outreach day at the New Hope Childrens home here in Mandeville. Many members from our church, New Life Church of the Deaf, came to join in the outreach. We bring work teams to the orphanage often, but this was the first time that the deaf have been able to go and volunteer as a church community. It was so awesome to see the church excited to serve. We are really looking forward to doing this more in the future. While we were there we cleaned, built new shelves, organized, played with the children, and cradled babies. There is a lot of need there for sure. Some of the deaf ladies want to start going there on a regular basis to braid the childrens' hair. Really cool!
Coming Up:
-Ben's parents will be coming to visit over Christmas. This will be their first time to Jamaica. We can't wait!

-We will be preparing for 3 work teams in January, one in February, and 4 in March.

-Krista will be getting some much needed time off from school over the holidays and prepping to begin her reading lab class next semester at Knockpatrick.
