In honor of World Interfaith Harmony Week, here is an opportunity to organize the best possible program in your community for interfaith harmony and get three prizes totaling $45,000. The events must be organized in the first week of February commemorating the World Interfaith Harmony Week.
 The week was first proposed at the UN General Assembly on September 23, 2010 by H.M. King Abdullah II of Jordan and was unanimously adopted by the UN.
The prizes will be:
First – $25,000 and a gold medal
Second –$15,000 and a silver medal
Third – $5,000 and a bronze medal

The South African Ambassador Visits the Parliament
Chicago Nov 28-- South African Ambassador to the USA visited the offices of the Parliament of the World’s Religions last week. Ambassador Ebrahim Rasool was the Premier of Cape Town’s province in South Africa when the 1999 Parliament of World Religions took place in Cape Town. He remembered how his newborn was being operated upon, while from the hospital floor he was making calls for the Parliament. 
The Chair emeritus of the Parliament Dr. Howard Sulkin who co-chaired the 1999 Parliament at Cape Town South Africa c haired the small reception in the honor of the South African Ambassador. Blouke Carus, whose grandfather was responsible for 1893 Parliament, presented an award to the ambassador recognizing his continued commitment to the interfaith movement. The ambassador Ebrahim Rasool, shared with us how the 1999 Parliament was a celebration of the power of faith which ended apartheid. He encouraged us to work on decreasing the zones of hostility in the world and increasing the zones of comfort between faith communities.

Joint Statement Regarding Brussels Parliament 2014
The Council for a Parliament of the World’s Religions and the Parliament of the World’s Religions Brussels 2014 regretfully announce that, due to the European financial crisis, it has not been possible to raise the necessary funds to hold the 2014 Parliament. The two organizations look forward to exploring other potential joint projects. Separately, the Council is pursuing options for the next Parliament with other interested and qualified cities.
Imam Mujahid Honored Among the 500 Most Influential Muslims in the World
Imam Abdul Malik Mujahid, the chair of the Board of the Parliament of the World’s Religions, is on this year’s “The Muslim 500: The World’s 500 Most Influential Muslims.” The Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Center in Jordan and Georgetown University have just released a book featuring the world’s 500 most influential Muslims, saying the aim is to help people understand the different ways Islam and Muslims impact the world today.
