If you love dancing to live music and sharing just how AWESOME swing dancing is with random strangers in Hartford, we've got just the opportunity for you! Join Hartford Underground at the Russian Lady in Downtown Hartford for the Holiday RAWk this Thursday! There will be food trucks, local vendors and artists, a beginner swing lesson around 9pm, and then LIVE swing music featuring the Dig Jazz Band from New Haven! While you're there rubbing elbows with new friends, you should also let them know about next week's dance at Shish that is also featuring LIVE music with Swing 39, a local gypsy jazz trio!
Don't forget about the Jitterbug Stroll Choreography Class tomorrow night and the Shim Sham Choreography Class on Dec. 12, before the live music. If you're looking to stay local this weekend, check out CSDS' 17th Annual Holiday Ball this Saturday. If you're looking for some regional swing dancing adventures, the Albany Lindy and Blues Exchange is happening this weekend and is always a good decision! There are a few carpools already heading up. 2. Holiday RAWk at the Russian Lady in Hartford - Thurs, Dec. 6
HU is teaming up with RAW: natural born artists (not to be confused with Real Art Ways) to bring swing dancing to the Russian Lady at their Holiday RAWk party! In addition to 3 levels of bars and entertainment, there will be local Hartford artists selling items (start your holiday shopping!), food trucks outside, and an ugly sweater contest! Pre-sale tickets can be bought online until 4pm on Thursday, Dec. 6.

An awesome evening of dazzling dance, red hot music, and gorgeous garb! There will be some tables for all to share. We will have coffee, tea, punch and we will be supplying holiday cookies for you!

5. HU presents LIVE music at Shish feat. Swing 39: Wed, Dec. 12
We had such a great time with the Fried Bananas that we decided to bring in MORE live music! We're happy to invite Swing 39, a Django inspired gypsy jazz trio based in Connecticut, to Shish in just a few weeks! Tell all your friends, family, and that cute co-worker to come out and dance with you! As usual, there will be a beginner lesson included in the price of admission and don't forget about the amazing food/drink menu that can be enjoyed in a cozy seating area around the dance floor!
