A new year, and renewed grace!

As the new year rolls around everyone's talking about resolutions. How can I become a better person; more disciplined, more loving, more focused? How can I lose that extra weight, plan that budget, read those books, etc.

When we were talking about resolutions on January 1st, our first point of discussion was: "what motivates me to make change now?" Is it the fact that a new year seems like a clean slate? A way to start fresh and accomplish all those things that I couldn't quite get to last year? It's like a fresh dose of grace and the hope that this time around I'll fulfill all these expectations... Whatever the reason is, we prepared for a new year with setting some goals.

We want to live in the PRESENT. Not get caught up in what may happen in the future, in the 'what if's..'. We know that God will give us Pepe's citizenship (we're officially in process), He will provide for all of our financial needs, He will open doors, He will refine us to become more like Him and He will walk with us every step of the way!

We want to continue with our focus and passion in missions! We want to serve and bless others with the same love that God has lavished on us. We will be leading two different missions trips this year from our local church, one in early spring to Panama for a week, and one in summer to El Salvador for a week. We're involved in promoting the trips, and helping with logistics. We're so excited about this opportunity and we'll keep you updated as we continue the process!!

We want to connect with family , and build relationships in our community. We've connected to a small group in our local church and are taking advantage of family events and get-togethers...

We want to be effective in managing our budget and seek for new and fresh ways to fundraise for monthly support. Currently we're at less than half of our goal budget. God has been providing above and beyond as Pepe has been working full time and we can save up for all of our future ministry plans!

We are making plans for when it's time to return to Mexico. We want to develop a deeper passion and focus for our future ministry. We have a plan for discipleship and a vision for hope! We want to serve and train local youth to become leaders and catalysts for change in their communities. We want to provide resources, networking and inspiration for God to multiply those young people. We want to see and breathe into people's potential through God's grace and His Holy Spirit.

We know all this and more is possible! Jesus said that faith as small as a mustard seed could move mountains!

What are your resolutions this year? What mountains do you need God to move?
