As we turned the page on 2012, the outpouring of support for the work of Amazon Watch was tremendous. The commitment of so many of you to protect this precious place, support our indigenous partners and take a stand for all life is powerful and inspiring. We are truly grateful.

In 2013 Amazon Watch is standing with communities on the front lines because of the support of those who believe in our mission and in us.

The road ahead in 2013 will continue to be a challenging one, but with your support we're ready. We will continue to meet and beat some of the greatest threats facing the Amazon. Big plans are in the works to:

• Continue to fight the Belo Monte dam and the 60 proposed hydro projects that threaten the Amazon and tens of thousands of indigenous people and riverine communities.
• Ramp up pressure on Chevron to take responsibility for the case in Ecuador that they lost – that we all won – and to do the right thing: clean up.
• Tackle a massive new round of oil block auctions in Ecuador and Peru that are a threat to our partners and some of the most pristine regions of the Amazon.
• Keep a fresh eye on the Amazon and report back to you.
