Did you know that each newsletter begins with a header image from a painting that I completed awhile ago? You can click on the image for more information about the actual painting.
Last Friday, I did a painting demo for the
Brush Strokes Fine Art Club of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. It was well received, and I'm hoping that the meeting attendees all learned a little something new about watercolor painting.
If your group is interested in a watercolor workshop or a painting demonstration, please contact me to discuss it. You can find descriptive information on the
Workshops page of my website. During January, I completed a commissioned painting of Lake Bled in Slovenia using a reference photo taken by the painting recipient. I also published a new slide-show video on YouTube of all of the weekly watercolor paintings I completed in 2012; take a look at it
Here when you have a few minutes.
Artist Tip
This week, in Artist Tip #10,
Color as a Design Element, we discuss the three attributes of color. Please go
Here to read the post on my blog. Next time, we'll begin talking about the major design principles that we ought to pay attention to as we paint.
If you'd like to read the tips I've posted previously, find the search box in the right-hand column of my blog, and search for artist tips.
Newly Posted Watercolors
Since my last newsletter I posted 3 new watercolors on
www.weeklywatercolor.com or
www.jimoberst.com. Two of these are seascapes, which are a favorite subject of mine. One of these has already been sold. The third is a landscape of a serene river valley. Click the images for more info.
