KEYNOTE SPEAKER: ERNIE ALLEN


The Global Center for Women and Justice's annual Ensure Justice conference is only two months away! This year's focus offers an amazing opportunity to study the issues, sparking action and collaboration in our communities, both local and global.

Here is a brief look at this year's dynamic keynote speaker, Ernie Allen, President & CEO, International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children: Ernie Allen is a world leader in the fight against child abduction, sexual exploitation, sexual violence and human trafficking.  He is the Co-Founder of the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children, (ICMEC), a nonprofit organization which is leading the global effort to protect children from sexual exploitation and abduction.  He has served as President and CEO of ICMEC since it was created in 1999. Under his leadership, ICMEC has built a global network that includes 22 nations, trained law enforcement in 121 countries and worked with parliaments in 74 countries to enact new laws on child pornography.

Vanguard alum Olivia Klaus '99 and Quiet Little Place Productions, with the support of GCWJ, have been selected as one of four recipients of the Mary Byron Project's Celebrating Solutions Award for Olivia's documentary, Sin by Silence, and corresponding Stop the Violence Campaign. OC Women Veterans Network Summit.

This week, we joined the Veterans Resource Center to host a community Summit, sponsored by the Employees Community Fund of Boeing California. The Summit engaged organizations working with veterans in Orange County in order to study the needs of women veterans returning home from service. The day included two main questions: What are the needs of women veterans? What gaps are there in services for women veterans?
