News from Great Start to Quality

Nearly 7,000 people have visited www.greatstartCONNECT.org since December 17 when the first Great Start to Quality  4-Star and 5-Star ratings were posted.  More than half of those visitors (3,612 out of 6,647) were new to the site.

Great Start to Quality Logo

The ratings make the online database for finding quality child care and preschool even more valuable to parents and providers alike.  Parents can easily see which programs and providers offer the best care for their child.  And programs and providers can have their quality verified and publicized on the site.

Spurred by the quality ratings, the most recent visitor numbers put www.greatstartCONNECT.org on track to surpass the number of Michigan families - 50,000 - that used the site last year to find child care and preschool.  This is good news for Michigan's young children and reflects the experience in other states that a public rating system raises the demand for quality child care and preschool.

Help Spread the Word and Win

Great Start is only as successful as the people who help support it.  We need more people like you to know about Great Start and the wonderful things we do for children.  For the month of February we will be running a contest to have more people sign up for our monthly newsletter.  Tell your friends to sign up for the newsletter and if they sign up both you and your friend will be entered into a drawing for a Great Start bag full of goodies.  In order to qualify, have your friend visit Great Start's website and sign up for the monthly newsletter.  In the box that asks "How did you hear about Great Start?" have your friend put in your name.  Both of you will be entered into the drawing.  The more friends you refer, the more times you are entered.  What a great opportunity to spread the word and have some fun.
