We have such a giant year planned for you! The astro turf for our balcony tiki lounge has been ordered, classes and workshops have been organised and we are raring to go. We have heaps of new fabric due to arrive in the next few weeks so keep an eye out of Facebook if you want to be the first to see when they arrive.

Join us for Saturday Crafternoon


Join us Saturday 26 January from 2pm - 5pm for our inaugural Crafternoon out on the 'lawn'. BYO flamingo.

Cloud is stupidly excited and can't wait for Crafternoon fun.  Bring along a small project and meet up with some other cool crafty locals!

Crafternoons on the lawn will be held fortnightly (unless we have a craft show). There will be the occasional free demo as well. The first demo is planned for 9 February.

Workshops & Classes

Quite a few people have asked us if we held classes and we're so proud to be able to (finally) say YES!

StephC from Cake Patterns and 3HoursPast.com will be running her beginners' sewing class - From Zilch to Zips. Over a 5 week course you will sew a tote, tee shirt & a skirt. Course starts on 22 January so book quickly! Class size is limited to ensure you get plenty of personal time and attention with Steph.

Martyn Smith is also running a series of Pattern Drafting classes with us this year. First up is Skirt Drafting and it runs over 4 sessions, starting 3 February. Martyn's knowledge is extensive and is solidly based on a career in the fashion industry.  Other classes in the series include Pants, Bodice and Dress Drafting and all build on the skills gained in his Skirt Drafting class.

We are also planning an Overlocker 101 class to be taught by Martyn, more Cake classes with StephC and Intermediate Sewing 'pick-up' sessions. Ky & Cloud will also be teaching hand embroidery and cushion making classes throughout the year.

Learn to sew with StephC, creator of Cake Patterns. Steph loves teaching beginners and has several years of experience teaching adults of all ages to sew in Brisbane. In this 5-week course you will stitch a simple and wearable ensemble including a shopping tote, t-shirt and A-line Skirt.
