Anyone feel slightly let down by the BBC’s second Africa programme after the epic first one? ‘Savannah’ surprisingly consisted rather too much of mountains and marsh rather than open plains. Neither show delivered a single cat hunt, I shouldn’t think the Midtunn family are bothered though.
One morning near Mara camp they sighted this young cat. She stalked with the guile of Messi then leapt like Daley, ambushing a warthog family before grabbing a piglet. She hogged the limelight right in front of their vehicle before departing with off her breakfast clamped in her muzzle.
Nature may appear cruel, but this young feline does not know when her next meal is coming and is ever the opportunist.
