The Art Institute of Chicago invites museum visitors Saturday:
Documentary Screening: Swami Vivekananda-An Introspect
January 12 marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of
Swami Vivekananda, the Hindu monk who became one of the most notable religious leaders of the 19th century. The Art Institute, as the site of
his famous 1893 speech promoting religious tolerance, marks this anniversary with a Fullerton Hall showing of the 2011 documentary Swami Vivekananda: An Introspect (running time: 29 minutes) by Aloke Banerjee and Jaydip Mukherjee. Screenings of the film begin at 11:00 and will repeat with the last screening at 3:30.
