Amida Newcastle sangha, linked together by Amida's Golden Chain

The following verse is taught to children in the Pureland tradition:

"I am a link in Amida Buddha's Golden Chain of Love
that stretches round the world.
Let me keep my link bright and strong.
Namo Amida Bu."

This verse teaches us that we do not practice just for ourselves. We are part of a chain of love. We trust that whatever good we do in life contributes to something bigger than ourselves.
Colin is now a Lay Member of the Amida Order!

Bodhi Day, December 8th, is the traditional day for our Amida ceremonies: Ordinations, Elevations, Admissions, and the Taking of Reguge.
On December 8th, Colin, longest serving member of the Amida Newcastle sangha, was admitted into the Amida Order as a Lay Member during a ceremony in Bolsover.
Colin has been a sangha member since the mid '90s and is known for his kind, caring and supportive qualities.

Congratulations, Colin!

There are further ceremonies pending for members of the Amida Newcastle sangha - dates to be announced when they are finalised.
