K Street Water Construction Project

As part of its Capital Improvement Program, DC Water is reconstructing a 36-inch steel water main on K Street, from First Street, NW, to Second Street, NE. The repairs to the 100 year-old pipe beneath the street include the rehabilitation of approximately 1,200 feet of steel water mains, and installation of valves and corrosion control measures. This project will begin this month, and will result in improved water quality, increased water pressure, and improved flows throughout the system. Water service is expected to continue without disruption throughout the 10-month construction period. However, if a temporary water service shut-off is necessary, residents will be given 48 hours notice. For more information about this project, please contact DC Water Project Manager Diem-Chau Du at (202) 787-7606 or Diem-Chau.Du@dcwater.com, and follow @NoMaBID for updates.
