Dear Friends,
As 2012 comes to a close we reflect on a remarkable year. Our efforts with partners in the Amazon have achieved notable victories in protecting the rainforest and advancing indigenous rights. Every day – EVERY DAY – thousands more join the movement to ensure the Amazon thrives and continues to function as the heart pump of our global weather system. More than 15,000 people have joined Amazon Watch and taken action online in just the last month. Thank you.
We are now over 200,000 strong standing up to ensure that:
- Ecuador does not auction off its remaining rainforest to oil companies
- Chevron is forced to finally do the right thing and clean up its toxic legacy in the rainforest
- Brazil's government wakes up and stops construction of the horrific Belo Monte dam
- The Achuar's territory in Peru remains free of Talisman Energy and any other oil company
Please make a tax-deductible contribution today to keep Amazon Watch well-equipped to continue the fight. It truly is your support that makes this work possible – and powerful.
For the Amazon,
Branden Barber
