We are seeking startups from a broad spectrum of health innovation -- located anywhere in the world -- that may include:

  • Biotechnology
  • Chronic disease management
  • Diagnostic testing
  • Healthcare cost management & reduction
  • Healthcare delivery & point-of-care solutions
  • Healthy aging
  • Home based services & solutions
  • Patient-provider engagement tools

Select companies will be invited to participate in the Program, which will include a customized growth curriculum, access to GE's executives, training on scaling business operations, a GE leadership mentor for each company, and exposure to GE technology experts. Additionally, the Program will offer a virtual commercial laboratory, where GE healthymagination and StartUp Health will create ongoing opportunities for partnerships, customer development, and pilot programs to test innovative products and business models.

The Hive Curation Team Announced To Select 40 Innovators

StartUp Health is pleased to partner with TEDMED to invite a diverse and dynamic group of innovators to participate in The Hive at the 2013 TEDMED event at the Kennedy Center. This debut gathering of entrepreneurs and future-thinkers will include 40 innovative companies that will be selected to share their products and services and join the Delegates in Washington, DC.

If you’d like to be considered for a scholarship to TEDMED and have your organization participate in The Hive, the application process has been extended through February 7, 2013. Apply here now!

The 40 companies will represent a diverse spectrum of innovators from startups, academia, government, non-profits, incubators, and industry. The Hive Curation Team, which was announced today, will help us select the final 40 organizations that will join us in April. The Hive Curation Team includes:

StartUp Health Partners with NYCEDC & Health 2.0 on Innovate Health Tech NYC Challenge

StartUp Health is excited to partner on a new healthcare technology challenge launched by the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) and Health 2.0 that is designed to spur innovation, business growth, and entrepreneurship in the New York City healthcare technology sector. The Innovate Health Tech NYC Challenge, sponsored by Janssen Healthcare Innovation, awards $50,000 in prizes to New York City-based health technologists that develop pre-commercialization stage innovations that solve urgent health care problems. The challenge invites software and hardware developers to submit their technological solutions, such as wireless health monitoring devices, mobile applications, clinical workflow management tools, and healthcare analytics tools, by May 2, 2013. Winners also receive coaching and support for a public Demo Day in July 2013.


PILOT Health Tech NYC Matchmaking Applications Due Soon

StartUp Health is proud to partner with the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), the Bloomberg Administration, and Health 2.0 on the PILOT Health Tech NYC. This unique program provides funding of up to $100,000 each to 10 innovative pilot projects annually to take place in New York City. Requests for matchmaking sessions must be submitted by February 10, 2013, so be sure to apply now. Attend the information session webinar on Tuesday, February 6 from 2-3pm to learn more about the PILOT Health Tech NYC program. We'll answer any questions and explain the process. The webinar will be recorded and later posted on the site, so those who can't make the webinar can watch it later. Register today!
