Association of Environmental Professionals -
Advanced CEQA Workshops

It’s a very big year for the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)!  The Legislature is again debating amendments to the statute, this time under the headline of “CEQA Modernization.”  Much of the debate relates to the time and cost of CEQA compliance.  With that in mind, the featured practice topic of the Association of Environmental Professional’s 2013 Advanced CEQA Workshops is “The Art of Streamlining.”  The workshop flyer presents the program outline and registration costs.  Online registration for the workshops is available now.

These workshops are designed to help planners, consultants, regulators, applicants, and other environmental professionals stay current on legal trends and “hot topics” affecting compliance with CEQA and the Guidelines.  The curriculum provides advanced-level information and includes the following topics: (1) Legislative Updates, (2) Building the Administrative Record, (3) Important Trends in Case Law, and (4) The Art of Streamlining: Tricks and Tools to Efficiently Apply CEQA (e.g., tiering, use of standards, new infill guidance, and much more)

For your convenience, this informative full-day workshop is offered statewide:
  • February 21 – San Luis Obispo
  • February 22 – Rohnert Park
  • February 26 – Redlands and Oakland
  • February 27 – Fresno
  • February 28 – San Diego
  • March 1 – West Sacramento, Ventura, Los Angeles, San Jose, Tustin, and Eureka
The workshop instructor team consists of environmental practitioners and attorneys with career experience in CEQA.  If you would like to see your friends from Ascent, we are speaking at the following locations:  Rohnert Park and West Sacramento (Curtis Alling), Oakland (Gary Jakobs), San Jose (Sydney Coatsworth), and San Luis Obispo (Amanda Olekszulin).

AICP credits are pending.  If you have any questions, please contact Lynne Bynder, AEP Executive Director at lbynder@califaep.org
