EXPLORATIONS

Q2 Explorations Program a Success!….Q3 Begins February 15th
When we take a chance to sit back and think about the Explorations program, we are always so impressed by the level of volunteerism and commitment that help make the program run each Friday.  In fact between our volunteer class leaders, committee members and staff (office support, teachers and paras) – there are 60+ people working every Friday to make Explorations a success.
We are very excited and grateful to be wrapping up an exciting quarter of Explorations and to let all of you know that we did get enough volunteers to run 27 courses in Q3.  The program would not be a success without a tremendous level of hands on volunteers every Friday.

NEWS YOU MAY HAVE MISSED

My son, Garrett Eisenman (6), a Swigert student in first grade, has decided to shave his head at an event in downtown Denver (Fado's pub on March 15th at 10 am) raising money for the St. Baldrick's Foundation and Childhood Cancer research. He is so invested in this project!! He has donated all of his own money (which is a big sacrifice for him) and checks the website about every 10-15 minutes to look for new donations. If you would be willing to help him it would be so appreciated! It is a wonderful cause! NO amount is too small!  He is currently in 2nd place out of 150 participants and his goal is to be the first place fundraiser!  Please forward to anyone who might be interested in helping out.  Here is a link to his website:

Thank you!!

PARENTING SAFE CHILDREN WORKSHOP WITH FEATHER BERKOWER

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

We are writing this email to invite you to a Life Changing parenting workshop. Yes, we really used that term! The workshop is called Parenting Safe Children. It is a wonderful, one-time commitment that is super empowering and so smart to keep our kids safe from sexual abuse.

The class is led by Feather Berkower, a licensed clinical social worker. Feather makes a tough topic easy to talk about. We can tell you from personal experience that you will leave the workshop feeling like it is the best investment, in both time and money you have ever made toward your child’s safety and wellbeing. (And it costs less than a car seat!)

Before we took this workshop, we thought we knew the basics on teaching our children about body safety. In fact, we know so much more now and our children are safer. We actually left that evening excited to talk to our kids about this!

We have found that it is very important for both parents to attend the workshop together when possible. We know this makes it a little more logistically challenging, but it makes a huge difference when you are both on the same page.

To register, click here:  http://parentingsafechildrenworkshopapril17.eventbrite.com
The workshop flyer is attached. Please feel free to contact us with any questions!
We look forward to seeing you there!

Sincerely,

Amy Calabrese and Carrie Thomas, Swigert Parents
