Year of the Snake

The Chinese Lunar New Year beings later this month. We think the Year of the Snake is great inspiration for new wine labels. Would you buy Snake in the Grass Vinho Verde? How about Serpent Apple Wine? Maybe Snake on a Plane Pinot Noir? Aspiring winemakers, feel free to use our ideas, but do share the credit!

This Bottle's Too Burdi-Licious

Like Bordeaux? I mean live for it? Then your Holy Grail will be a spot at the Burdi Gala. This Grand Tasting and Gala Dinner on Feb 22nd celebrate the best wines of this famed region. Eric Dubourg of Wineberry (and honorary Bottlerocker) is the man behind this once-in-a-lifetime event. Alain Ducasse is manning the stove, 30 somms from around the country are pouring and Bordeaux's top producers will all be in the house. Hey, maybe Beyoncé will even be there.

We Do

Private Events. Wine tastings. Office gatherings. Birthday shindigs. Small and intimate or big and rowdy. You call the shots, Bottlerocket does the heavy lifting. We offer all-inclusive services for events – on site or at your place. Get in touch with events maven Melissa Hall. She'll talk you through it, helping you create an event to remember.

What's the Deal?

Bodegas Brecas. Garnacha 2010.
Spain > Aragon >> Calatayud.
$16.00

Imported by Jorge Ordoñez and gushed over unabashedly by Mr. Parker (94 points for $16!), the grapes for Breca's 2010 release are harvested from head-trained, dry-farmed, low-yield 65-85-year-old vines, grown hillside at 3,000 feet above sea level and aged in very large French oak foudres. Tooth-stainingly purple, the 2010 has all the hallmarks of a Breca Garnacha: dense, supple and awesome.
