La Nova Singers are one of Dorset's most engaging vocal ensembles, performing an eclectic repertoire of classical, sacred, operatic and modern choral music.

Warbling in a winter wonderland...

Issue 2 | Winter 2013

Welcome to the January edition of the La Nova Singers Newsletter! The last few months have flown by, with festive performances in Dorchester; at Highcliffe Castle; and even a special Christmas Eve appearance at the Kings Arms boutique hotel in the choir's 'home town' of Christchurch.

After a brief but restful break, we are back in rehearsal - and refusing to let a little bit of snow stand in our way! We're preparing some beautiful music to perform in 2013, including pieces by Haydn and Leoncavallo.

Looking forward to spring, our next concert will be 'Light is my Heart' on Saturday 23 March - where we'll be performing with some very special guests!

Girls on Film

La Nova Singers are proud to reveal their first professionally filmed and directed video, produced by independent film maker Sarita 'Frit' Tam. This short film takes you behind the scenes as the singers prepare for a concert at Highcliffe Castle. Click to watch it now, on the LNS Vimeo page.

Special Guests for Spring Concert

Performing with La Nova Singers for the first time this March will be 16 ladies from Michelle Nova's all-female choral course. The singers will perform as 'Studio Choir', and at this concert will join with LNS and the young Bella Nova ensemble. Proceeds go to Macmillan Caring Locally.

2012 In Review

At the end of the year, Michelle Nova took time out of her busy festive schedule to record a special message for all our supporters. If you missed it, you can watch it here.

A New CD

In the autumn of last year, the singers visited North Road Music Centre to record a new CD. Although the original plan was to record music we performed for the Thomas Hardy festival, we somehow ended up with a Christmas album - which has been very popular! We are now planning our next CD and would welcome your suggestions - send them to newsletter@lanovasingers.co.uk.
