Welcome to 2013! I’m happy to report that we passed through the End of the World in one piece, and all operations are full steam ahead! I hope you enjoyed your holidays and are welcoming new opportunities for prosperity in this New Year. T2E3 has been busy over the last year, and that trend appears ready to continue well into 2013. From the announcements and events listed below, you can see we are well on our way to keeping busy and staying out of trouble for the foreseeable future. I hope to see many of you at WTUI in March and/or the ASME Power Conference in July.

Gas Turbine Performance Seminar – Join us for 2 full days in San Diego this March to go over the performance capabilities of the GE LM6000 gas turbine, including the benefits of SPRINT and inlet cooling options. The seminar includes hands-on exercises to calculate the expected output and heat rate of a gas turbine using real data – so bring your calculator! Ample time during the seminar is also provided for participants to discuss their own unit’s operating characteristics, including any issues that may have arisen lately. Highlights of the seminar include the following:
- Performance expectations of the various LM6000 engines (PA, PC, PD, PG, PH)
- Performance analysis – using models and spreadsheets (and your calculator!)
- What are throttle push corrections, and what they tell you about performance
- Performance testing – including an overview of ASME PTC-22 on Gas Turbines
- Performance monitoring - including personnel and data requirements
- The benefits of advanced pattern recognition systems

Upcoming Events
February 5th – 7th, 2013 – Tina will be traveling to Scottsdale, AZ in February to attend the EPRI Heat Rate Improvement Conference (more information at: www.cvent.com/events/2013-heat-rate-improvement-conference/event-summary-03a60a53d2844132a50756fe6b7eb7e0.aspx). Tina will be presenting the results of the updates to the Heat Rate Improvement Guideline completed in 2012.
March 7th & 8th, 2013 – Tina will be presenting the LM6000 Performance Characteristics, Testing and Long-Term Condition Monitoring Seminar in San Diego, CA (see http://www.t2e3.com/LM6000.php for more information)
March 10th – 13th, 2013 – Tina will be attending and exhibiting at the Western Turbine Users Conference (http://wtui.com/). WTUI is a gathering of GE Aeroderivative gas turbine users from around the world. It provides a great opportunity to share and learn from other gas turbine owners and operators in the industry.
July 29th-August 1st, 2013 – Tina will be attending the ASME Power Conference as the Program Coordinator for the ASME Combined Cycle committee (www.asmeconferences.org/power2013/).
