The Executive Office of the Arab Ministerial Council for Electricity Endorses the Arab Strategy for The Development of Renewable Energies 2010-2030.
In the framework of RCREEE- League of Arab States technical cooperation in the area of RE and EE, RCREEE participated in the 28th meeting of the Executive Office of the Arab Ministerial Council for Electricity in Doha, Qatar, 8th of Jan 2013. The Executive Director presented progress on the implementation of Arab Guidelines for Energy Efficiency in the member states and solar thermal certification initiative SHAMCI. Furthermore, the Executive Office recommended the Arab Strategy for The Development of Renewable Energies 2010-2030 to be submitted in the Arab Economical and Social Summit in Riyadh 2013, for approval by heads of states.

RCREEE welcomes 2013 “Regional Program” Interns 
RCREEE is pleased to welcome the new interns who have joined it on January 13th, 2013 through the Regional Internship Program.
As an effort to promote and develop human capacities, RCREEE offered a new internship through which newly graduates, from various academic backgrounds, are assigned to work on RCREEE projects. The internship aims at enhancing graduates experience through practical work assignments. This is accomplished by allowing them to gain insight into the work of the Center and providing assistance and training in various professional fields.
This year the internship included diverse nationalities, from our member states. The interns come from Egypt, Tunisia, Sudan, Libya and Palestine.

World first Renewable Energy Atlas Launched
The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) has unveiled world's first Online Global Atlas of Renewable Energy Resources. The Atlas, launched on 13th of January 2013, aims to assess the renewable energy sources on global scale as it collects data from leading research institutes. Currently, the Atlas simulates solar and wind resources, and will expand to other forms of renewable energy over 2013 and 2014” says IRENA. The Atlas is available and can be viewed on IRENA website.

Algeria and Germany to co-operate over renewable energy
January 13th, 2013, Minister of Energy and mines, H.E. Youcef Yousfi, met the German Parliamentary Secretary of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety H.E Katherina Reiche with whom he discussed cooperation in the field of renewable energy. During the meeting H.E. the minister presented the main goals of the national program to develop renewable energies. The two parties have agreed to exchange expert visits and hold joint workshops as well as discussing and developing cooperation in the field of RE.
