Valentine's Day Range
What better way to say "I love you" than with a silvery heart?
This new range of sterling silver and red Czech Glass heart jewellery is designed with St Valentine in mind.
Legend has it that Valentine was a third century Roman priest who was caught marrying Christian couples. He was arrested and imprisoned because assisting Christians was a crime at the time. The Emperor Claudius took a liking to his prisoner, until Valentine tried to convert him to Christianity whereupon the priest was condemned to death. He was beaten with clubs and stones, and when that failed to kill him, he was beheaded and he was later martyred for his troubles. Poor old St Valentine!
It wasn't until the fourteenth century that Valentine's Day as we know it was born. The famous poet Geoffrey Chaucer wrote 'The Parliament of Fowls', which included the popular notion that birds paired off to mate on 14 February each year; it also made reference to some Valentine's Day traditions such as sending anonymous love letters and exchanging token gifts with your lover.
So, why not surprise your partner, your best friend, or just treat yourself - visit the Valentine's section of The Silver Forge shop. It brings to life the richness and diversity of Africa, and also describes the plight of a nation beset by the HIV virus. Mothers For All is the organisation that Robyn co-founded to support women in Botswana and South Africa who care for children orphaned or made vulnerable by HIV and AIDS.

Wild, Weird & Wonderful
Mountain Goats
Look. Look closely. What you are seeing are goats, grazing on the wall of the Cingino Dam, in Antrona Valley, Italy. Chewing things, licking mineral salt deposits... y'know, doing goat stuff!! I don't know about you, I don't have much of a head for heights - but these guys are a bit of an inspiration to push on, climb high, and cross boundaries to follow your dreams... even if your heart's desire is a salt lick!
