He is eager to use his skill set to contribute to the vision of Halton Food For Thought and continue to encourage healthy eating and promote local foods to students in the region.

Wade Group

Our partnership with the Wade Group began when Louise Anger first called our Executive Director to present during a lunch and learn session. From that day forward several of their employees got behind our mission and have been serving up breakfast at both Tecumseh and Ryerson Public schools.  Their volunteer day begins at 7:30am and they are ready for work shortly after 9am energized and ready for their day. The impact has be invaluable for both students and the employees. Pictured: Mark Matson is presenting Gayle Cruikshank funds raised by employees.

Farm 2 School

Receiving funding from ArcelorMittal has allowed Halton Food for Thought to expand their Farm 2 School (F2S) program to include the Gary Allan programs. In Burlington approximately 162 students at the New Street site have benefited from the access to healthy fruits and vegetables that are part of the more than 5,000 meals served so far this school year. Studies show that eating healthy foods has a direct correlation to our brain and emotional function! We are pleased that through the F2S program not only are students receiving farm fresh foods that taste great but they are realizing just where their food really comes from! We cannot thank ArcelorMittal enough for their support and belief in our programs.
